RUS7 history began in 2001, when the team, comprising amateurs and professionals, for the first time took part in international competitions.
The first RUS7 boat was Follow Me IMX 45. After three years of training and participation in world regattas the team started to win: 2nd overall in IRC5 class at Obelix Trophy 2004 (Benodet, France), 1st overall in Corinthian division (IRC0 class) at Cork Week (Cork, Cross Haven, Ireland), 1st overall in IRC 1 class at Skandia Cowes Week 2004 (Cowes, England), 2nd overall in IRC 4 class at L'Atlantique Le Telegramme (L'Orient, France)
That year RUS7 participated in Rolex Commodores Cup 2004 (Cowes, Isle of Wight, England). RUS7 as a part of the team Europe (with France and Belgium).
At the end of 2004 RUS7 obtained popular racing yacht Grand Soleil 42, designed by Botin/Carkeek. It was the logical stage of the team development. Despite unpopularity of IMS measurements, working with the boat, RUS7 developed team functioning and cooperation among members, increasing their proficiency.
In 2005 RUS7 participated in many regattas, adjusting and testing the boat: Trofeo S.M. La Reina, Rolex IMS Offshore World Championship, Copa Del Rey.
The last competition of 2005 season was World Championship IMS 600 (Crete, Greece), where RUS7 - according to its own opinion - showed good results.
2006 season was a culmination of the work with Grand Soleil 42R. Russian team won Kiel Week 2006 (Kiel, Germany) and took first place in Rolex Baltic Week (2006 Rolex IMS Offshore World Championship).
Since 2004 the team was interested in TP52 Series. RUS7 watched the development of this class and joined it in 2005 as a Associated Member. In 2007 it became a Full Right Member of TP52 class and took part with Valars I boat (former Cahixa Galicia) in all events of Breitling MedCup Circuit 2007.
RUS7 rented 2007 build boat (former Mutua Madrilena) at the beginning of 2008. It was made to learn more about TP52 boat, to expand knowledge and to formulate its own conception of new boat building. After four events RUS7 bought new 2008 built boat, named Valars III (former Mean Machine, Breitling MedCup 2006 winner) and with the boat it made a debut in Portimao (Portugal). RUS7 continued to participate in all Audi MedCup and World Championship events (2008-2009 seasons).
